Dr. Deborah Moon, Optometric Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Deborah A. Moon graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1996 with her Doctor of Optometry degree. While in her clinical rotations, she received many Letters of Excellence and was selected to receive the Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens Excellence Award by the faculty at UHCO. In 2000, she completed the additional education and examination requirements to practice as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Moon is a 1992 honor graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington where she received a bachelor of science degree in Biochemistry. She also received an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Grayson County College in 1987 and worked in a hospital laboratory for several years while earning her doctorate degree. A Texas native, Dr. Moon graduated from Denison High School in Denison, Texas. She has been caring for patients in Plano since 1996 and joined Dr. Turner at Lakeside Vision and Optical in January, 2004. Dr. Moon is therapeutically licensed to treat all diseases of the eye, treat eye injury, and specializes in glaucoma treatment, difficult contact lens fitting, and LASIK management. Dr. Moon is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and served on the Board of Directors from 1998 to 2001. She is also past President of the Northeast Texas Optometric Society. She is serving on the Board of Directors as Past President of the Plano Metro Rotary Club, is a Paul Harris Fellow through Rotary International, and is an active community volunteer. She was appointed to the PISD Career Education Advisory Council and rotates student interns in the Clinical Education Program for PISD. Dr. Moon enjoys travel, weight training and fitness, scuba diving, yoga, biking and hiking, riding her motorcycle, Bible study, and spending time with her family, friends, and her two dogs.
Dr. Stacy L. Turner, Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Stacy L. Turner is a native of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. She graduated from McAllen High School and Pan American University. After earning a B.S. in Mathematics, Dr. Turner worked as a computer programmer in McAllen, Texas. Desiring more interaction with people, she decided that a career in the health care industry would suit her best. She attended the University of Houston College of Optometry for four years and graduated in 1988 with honors. While in school, she worked as a teaching assistant in General Optometry and Contact Lenses and received several clinical letters of recognition. Dr. Turner moved to the North Dallas area in January 1989 and began practicing in Plano in 1990. She and Dr. Renee Campbell founded Lakeside Vision and Optical in 1998. She enjoys the challenge of fitting contact lenses and satisfying patient needs. She also enjoys emergency eyecare - trauma, red eyes, and eye disease management. Dr. Turner is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honorary Optometric Fraternity, American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Northeast Texas Optometric Society and the Plano Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Turner and her husband, Alan, attend Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco. They have a son who plays hockey, football and rugby. They also share a home with a golden retriever, Sundance, and a border collie, Gunner.
Dr. Renee J. Campbell, Optometrist (Retired)Dr. Renee J. Campbell graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1988. She was formerly practicing with Lakeside Vision and Optical from 1990 to 2008. She retired in 2008 in order to home school her two children. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association. She is also a member of North Texas Enrichment Classes. Dr. Campbell and her husband, Thomas, are active members of Fellowship Bible Church North in Plano.
